1. Locate the seat latches. The rear seat of the 1997 Isuzu Rodeo has two latches on the floor, one on each side. They are located near the front of the seat, close to the front doors.
2. Release the latches. Pull up on the latches to release them. This will disengage the seat from its locked position.
3. Fold down the seat. Once the latches are released, you can fold the rear seat down. Lift up the rear seat from the front, and then push it down until it is flat.
4. Access the jack handle. The jack handle is located in the compartment under the rear seat. Lift the carpet in the trunk to find the jack handle and other emergency tools.
5. Retrieve the jack handle. Once you have located the jack handle, remove it from the compartment. If necessary, use a flashlight to see better in the dark compartment.
6. Close the compartment. After removing the jack handle, close the compartment under the rear seat. Place the carpet back in its original position.
7. Put the seat back up. Lift the rear seat back up and lock it in place by pushing down on the latches until they click into place.
Note: Make sure that the rear seat is securely locked in place before driving. If the seat is not properly secured, it can be dangerous in the event of a collision.
