How do you change transmission fluid and filter on a 94 Honda accord with automatic transmission?

Tools

- 10mm socket wrench

- 17mm socket wrench

- Funnel

- Drain pan

- New transmission fluid (ATF)

- New transmission filter

Instructions

1. Park your vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.

2. Locate the transmission drain plug. It is located on the bottom of the transmission pan, near the front of the vehicle.

3. Place the drain pan under the drain plug and loosen the plug with the 17mm socket wrench.

4. Allow the old transmission fluid to drain completely.

5. Once the fluid has drained, replace the drain plug and tighten it with the socket wrench.

6. Locate the transmission filter. It is located inside the transmission pan.

7. Remove the transmission pan bolts with the 10mm socket wrench and carefully remove the pan.

8. Remove the old transmission filter and clean the pan with a rag.

9. Install the new transmission filter and replace the pan. Tighten the bolts with the socket wrench.

10. Add new transmission fluid to the transmission through the dipstick tube. Use the funnel to avoid spilling any fluid.

11. Check the transmission fluid level with the dipstick. The fluid level should be between the "Full" and "Add" marks.

12. Start the vehicle and let it run for a few minutes. Then, shift through all of the gears. This will help circulate the new transmission fluid.

13. Recheck the transmission fluid level and add more fluid if necessary.
