1. Park the vehicle on level ground and turn off the engine.
2. Open the hood and locate the transmission fluid dipstick. It is usually a yellow or orange plastic handle located near the back of the engine compartment.
3. Pull the dipstick out of the transmission and wipe it clean with a rag.
4. Reinsert the dipstick into the transmission until it is fully seated.
5. Pull the dipstick out again and check the fluid level. The fluid should be between the "FULL" and "ADD" marks on the dipstick.
6. If the fluid level is low, add enough transmission fluid to bring it up to the "FULL" mark. Use only genuine Toyota/Lexus transmission fluid.
7. Reinsert the dipstick and check the fluid level again to make sure it is correct.
8. Close the hood and you are done.
