* Timing belt tension gauge
* New timing belt
Instructions:
1. Park your Honda Civic on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
2. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool completely.
3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
4. Remove the serpentine belt.
5. Loosen the bolts holding the timing belt tensioner in place.
6. Pry the tensioner away from the timing belt and remove the belt from the camshaft and crankshaft sprockets.
7. Remove the timing belt tensioner.
8. Clean the timing belt area with a degreaser and a rag.
9. Inspect the camshaft and crankshaft sprockets for wear or damage. Replace the sprockets if necessary.
10. Install the new timing belt tensioner.
11. Place the new timing belt on the camshaft and crankshaft sprockets.
12. Tighten the timing belt tensioner bolts until the belt is properly tensioned.
13. Install the serpentine belt.
14. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
15. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check for any leaks or unusual noises.
