1. Jack up the rear of the vehicle and support it on jack stands.
2. Remove the wheels.
3. Locate the brake adjuster star wheel on the back of the brake backing plate.
4. Use a flathead screwdriver to turn the star wheel clockwise until the brake shoes make contact with the brake drum.
5. Back off the star wheel until the brake drum can be turned freely by hand.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until the brake drum can be turned freely by hand but the brake shoes are still making contact with the drum.
7. Reinstall the wheels and lower the vehicle.
You may need to readjust the brakes multiple times to make sure that they are properly adjusted.
