Gather the necessary tools and parts:
- Replacement tail light assembly
- Phillips head screwdriver
- Socket wrench with a 10 mm socket
- Prying tool or flat-head screwdriver (optional)
1. Park your Lexus RX 350 on a level surface and engage the parking brake. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
2. Locate the tail light assembly you need to replace. The tail lights are located on the left and right sides of the vehicle at the rear.
3. Open the rear cargo door or trunk of your Lexus RX 350 to access the tail light assembly.
4. Remove the two screws that hold the tail light assembly in place using the Phillips head screwdriver. These screws are usually located on the inside of the cargo door or trunk.
5. Gently pull the tail light assembly towards you to disengage it from the vehicle. You may need to use a prying tool or flat-head screwdriver to carefully pry it out. Disconnect any electrical connectors attached to the tail light assembly.
6. Remove the old light bulb from the tail light assembly by twisting the bulb counterclockwise and pulling it out.
7. Install the new light bulb into the tail light assembly by inserting it into the socket and turning it clockwise until it is secure.
8. Reattach the tail light assembly to the vehicle by aligning it with the mounting holes and securing it with the two screws that you removed earlier.
9. Reconnect any electrical connectors that you disconnected during the removal process.
10. Repeat steps 4 to 9 for the other tail light assembly if needed.
11. Test the new tail lights to ensure they are functioning properly. Turn on the headlights and hazard lights to verify that the tail lights are working.
Remember, if you are not comfortable performing this task, it is recommended to consult a professional or refer to your vehicle's owner's manual for more specific instructions.
