-New oil filter (check your owner's manual for the correct size)
-New oil (check your owner's manual for the correct type and amount)
-Oil drain pan
-Funnel
-Wrench
-Rags
-Gloves
-Safety glasses
-Car ramps or jack and jack stands (optional)
Step 2: Prepare your vehicle:
-Park your Sport Trac on a level surface.
-Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
-Engage the parking brake.
Step 3: Locate the oil drain plug:
-The oil drain plug is located on the bottom of the oil pan, near the front of the engine.
-If your Sport Trac is equipped with skid plates, you will need to remove the skid plate(s) to access the oil drain plug.
Step 4: Drain the old oil:
-Position the oil drain pan underneath the oil drain plug.
-Use the wrench to loosen and remove the oil drain plug.
-Allow the old oil to drain completely.
Step 5: Replace the oil drain plug:
-Once the old oil has drained, replace the oil drain plug.
-Tighten the oil drain plug until it is snug, but do not over-tighten.
Step 6: Locate the oil filter:
-The oil filter is located on the top of the engine.
Step 7: Remove the old oil filter:
-Use the wrench to loosen and remove the oil filter.
-Be careful not to spill any oil.
Step 8: Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter:
-Make sure to cover the entire surface of the gasket.
Step 9: Screw on the new oil filter:
-Hand-tighten the oil filter until it is snug.
-Do not over-tighten the oil filter.
Step 10: Add new oil:
-Use the funnel to add the recommended amount of new oil to the engine.
-Do not overfill the engine.
Step 11: Check the oil level:
-Use the dipstick to check the oil level.
-The oil level should be between the "Add" and "Full" marks on the dipstick.
Step 12: Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes:
-Check for any leaks under the vehicle.
Step 13: Turn off the engine and recheck the oil level:
-Ensure the oil level is still between the "Add" and "Full" marks on the dipstick.
