1. Park the vehicle on a level surface, apply the parking brake and turn off the engine.
2. Locate the CV joints. They are usually located at the ends of the axle shafts, near the wheels.
3. Jack up the vehicle and support it with jack stands. Make sure the vehicle is stable before proceeding.
4. Remove the wheel and tire.
5. Remove the brake caliper and rotor. This may require removing a few bolts or screws.
6. Remove the tie rod end from the steering knuckle.
7. Remove the axle nut from the hub assembly. This may require a special socket.
8. Separate the CV joint from the axle shaft by prying it apart with a pry bar. Be careful not to damage the CV joint.
9. Remove the old CV joint from the axle shaft.
10. Install the new CV joint onto the axle shaft. Make sure the joint is fully seated and secure.
11. Reinstall the axle nut and tighten it to the specified torque.
12. Reinstall the tie rod end to the steering knuckle.
13. Reinstall the brake caliper and rotor.
14. Reinstall the wheel and tire.
15. Lower the vehicle from the jack stands and remove the jack.
