How do you adjust a 1998 Nissan 200sx clutch?

To adjust the clutch on a 1998 Nissan 200SX, follow these steps:

1. Park the car on a level surface and turn off the engine.

2. Raise the hood and locate the clutch master cylinder. It is usually located near the firewall on the driver's side of the engine compartment.

3. Remove the rubber cap from the clutch master cylinder reservoir.

4. Check the fluid level in the reservoir. The fluid level should be between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks on the reservoir. If the fluid level is low, add enough DOT 3 brake fluid to bring it up to the proper level.

5. Replace the rubber cap on the clutch master cylinder reservoir.

6. Locate the clutch slave cylinder. It is usually located near the bottom of the transmission bell housing.

7. Clean the area around the clutch slave cylinder to remove any dirt or debris.

8. Use a 10mm wrench to loosen the two nuts that hold the clutch slave cylinder in place.

9. Pull the clutch slave cylinder away from the transmission bell housing until you can see the push rod.

10. Use a flat-head screwdriver to adjust the push rod. Turn the push rod clockwise to move it closer to the clutch pedal, or counterclockwise to move it away from the clutch pedal.

11. Once you have adjusted the push rod, tighten the two nuts that hold the clutch slave cylinder in place.

12. Test the clutch by starting the car and depressing the clutch pedal. The clutch should engage and disengage smoothly.

If you are not comfortable making this adjustment yourself, you can take your car to a qualified mechanic to have the clutch adjusted.
