1. Park the Jimmy on a level surface.
2. Engage parking brake.
3. Put on safety glasses.
4. Raise and safely support the rear of the Jimmy with jack stands.
5. Remove the drive shaft from the transmission and transfer case.
6. Remove the transmission bell housing bolts and carefully separate transmission and engine blocks (may need a pry bar).
7. Pry out old rear main seal from the engine block.
8. Apply a thin bead of sealant around the new rear main seal.
9. Carefully press new rear main seal into the engine block.
10. Reattach transmission to the engine block.
11. Reattach the driveshaft to the transmission and transfer case.
12. Remove jack stands.
13. Lower Jimmy and test for leaks.
