2. Disconnect the negative terminal of your battery. This will reset the computer and clear the check engine light.
3. Wait at least 15 minutes to allow the car's computer to perform a full reset.
4. Reconnect the negative terminal of your battery.
5. Start your car and check to make sure the check engine light is off.
If the check engine light is still on after following these steps, you may need to take your car to a mechanic to diagnose and fix the problem.
