Replacement Steps:
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Jack up the front of the car and support it with jack stands.
3. Remove the left front wheel.
4. Remove the inner fender liner to expose the engine block.
5. Locate the knock sensor. It is a small, cylindrical sensor with a single wire coming out of it.
6. Unplug the wire harness connector from the knock sensor.
7. Use a 14mm wrench to loosen the mounting bolt.
8. Remove the knock sensor from the engine block.
9. Apply a dab of sealant to the threads of the new knock sensor.
10. Screw the new knock sensor into the engine block.
11. Tighten the mounting bolt to 22 ft-lbs.
12. Reconnect the wiring harness connector to the knock sensor.
13. Reinstall the inner fender liner.
14. Reinstall the front wheel.
15. Lower the car.
16. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
That's it! The knock sensor should now be replaced.
