1. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool.
2. Open the hood and locate the OBD-II port. It is usually located under the dashboard on the driver's side.
3. Connect an OBD-II scanner to the port.
4. Turn on the ignition. Do not start the engine.
5. Follow the prompts on the scanner to access the vehicle's diagnostic information.
6. Select the option to clear or reset the check engine light.
7. Follow any additional prompts on the scanner to confirm the reset.
8. Turn off the ignition and disconnect the scanner.
9. Start the engine. The check engine light should be turned off.
