How do you replace headlight bulb in 2008 Mazda tribute?

To replace the headlight bulb in a 2008 Mazda Tribute, please follow the steps below. They work for both regular and xenon (HID) bulbs.

NOTE: These instructions are for changing the Low-beam headlight bulbs. If you need to change the high beam bulb, the steps are the same.

1. Open the Hood

- Pull the hood release lever in the footwell.

- Open the hood and prop it up using a prop rod.

2. Locate the back cover of the headlight assembly

- The headlight assembly is located behind the headlights.

3. Remove the back cover

- Unplug the electrical connector attached to the back of the bulb cover.

- Turn the 10mm plastic cover retainer counter-clockwise to unlock and remove it.

- Pull the cover straight back to remove it from the headlight assembly.

4. Remove the old bulb

- Pull on the rubber grommet to remove it.

- Turn the bulb counterclockwise about an eighth turn, and pull it straight out of the headlight assembly.

5. Install the new bulb

- Before handling the new bulb, put on some clean, lint-free gloves. The natural oil from your fingers will shorten the life of a new bulb.

- Position the bulb in the headlight assembly.

- Turn the bulb clockwise about an eighth of a turn to lock it in place.

- Reinstall the rubber grommet.

6. Reinstall the cover

- Position the cover over the bulb and the headlight assembly.

- Turn the plastic retainer clockwise and tighten.

- Reconnect the electrical connector that you disconnected in step 2.

7. Close the Hood

- Lower the hood and close it securely.
