How to adjust Clutch on 2000 ford f 250?

Adjusting the Clutch on a 2000 Ford F-250

1. Park your F-250 on level ground, engage the parking brake, turn off the engine, and allow it to cool down.

2. Locate the clutch cable located on the passenger's side of the firewall.

3. Look for the locknut located at the end of the clutch cable.

4. Using two wrenches, loosen the locknut and turn the adjuster until the clutch pedal has 1 inch of free play.

5. Hold the adjuster in place and tighten the locknut.

6. Test the clutch pedal to ensure it has 1 inch of free play.

7. Start the engine and engage the clutch, the vehicle should move smoothly without shuddering.

8. If the clutch is still slipping or shuddering, you will need to adjust it further or you may need to replace the clutch.
