How do you replace the headlight bulb on your 2009 F150?

To replace the headlight bulb on your 2009 F150, follow these steps:

Tools and Materials needed:

1. New headlight bulb (H13)

2. Phillips-head screwdriver

3. Flat-head screwdriver

4. Needle-nose pliers

5. Work gloves

Instructions:

1. Park your vehicle on a level surface, turn off the engine, and apply the parking brake.

2. Open the hood of your F150 and locate the headlight assembly that needs the bulb replaced.

3. Turn the adjustment screw located at the back of the headlight assembly counterclockwise to loosen it. The adjustment screw is next to the low-beam bulb.

4. Once the adjustment screw is loose, gently pull the headlight assembly toward the front of the vehicle to release it from its mounting clips.

5. Slide the headlight assembly forward until you have enough room to access the bulb.

6. To replace the bulb, turn the bulb socket counterclockwise until it is loose, and then remove it.

7. Release the old bulb from the socket by gently twisting it counterclockwise and pulling it out.

8. Insert the new bulb into the socket by aligning it with the tab in the socket and gently twisting clockwise until it locks in place.

9. Replace the socket by turning it back in place until it is snug

10. Slide the headlight assembly back into position and fasten the adjustment screw until it is snug.

11. Test the headlight to ensure it's working properly.

12. Repeat steps 3-11 to replace the bulb in the other headlight assembly if necessary.

Important Tips:

1. Make sure the vehicle is turned off and the key is removed from the ignition before starting the replacement process.

2. It's recommended to wear work gloves to protect your hands while handling the headlight assembly and bulb.

3. Handle the new headlight bulb with care, as touching the glass surface with bare hands can leave fingerprints that can reduce the bulb's lifespan due to uneven heating.

4. If you encounter difficulty accessing or replacing the bulb, consult your vehicle's owner's manual or a professional mechanic for assistance.
