How do I remove a rear wheel bearing on VQ Statesman?

Step-by-step guide to removing a rear wheel bearing on a VQ Statesman:

Tools and materials needed:

- Jack and jack stands

- Lug wrench

- Socket set

-Pry bar

- Hammer

Instructions:

1. Park the vehicle on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and chock the front wheels to prevent the vehicle from rolling.

2. Use the lug wrench to loosen the lug nuts on the rear wheel you will work. Do not remove them at this time.

3. Jack up the vehicle until the rear wheel is off the ground. Ensure the vehicle is properly and securely supported by the jack stands.

4. Remove the lug nuts and take off the rear wheel.

5. Use the pry bar and hammer to remove the hub cap/dust cover.

6. Remove the cotter pin and axle nut.

7. Remove the brake disc. You might need a bit more force to remove it, use a hammer and knock the disc from one side to another until it pops out.

8. Remove the bearing retainer (hub) from the wheel end of the axle. It might be helpful to use the pry bar and hammer here as well.

9. Once you have removed the hub, you will see the rear wheel bearing. Use a socket wrench with the appropriate socket to remove the rear wheel bearing from the axle.

10. Discard the old bearing, clean the axle, and install a new bearing in the reverse order as removal. Ensure that the bearing is seated correctly.

11. Reinstall the hub, replace the axle nut and secure it with a new cotter pin.

12. Reinstall the brake disc and the hub cap/dust cover.

13. Reattach the rear wheel, put on the lug nuts, and lower the vehicle carefully.

14. Tighten the lug nuts securely with the lug wrench.

15. Test-drive the vehicle to ensure the wheel bearing is functioning correctly. Listen for any unusual noises or vibrations.

Take great care not to damage any components while removing the wheel bearing. If you have any doubts about your abilities, it's best to seek professional assistance.
