Preparation

Removing the Old Alternator Belt:

7. Use the appropriate wrench or socket. Loosen the alternator tensioner pulley to release the tension on the alternator belt.

Installing the New Alternator Belt:

10. Make sure the belt aligns correctly. It should sit in the grooves of the pulleys.
11. Adjust the alternator tension. Use the wrench or socket to tighten the alternator tensioner pulley until the belt is snug but not too tight. Refer to your vehicle's manual for the recommended tension.
12. Check the AC compressor tension. Make sure it's adequately tightened as well.
Final Checks:
13. Give all the pulleys and belts a final visual inspection to ensure everything is installed correctly and securely.
14. Close the hood and start the engine.
15. Listen for any unusual noises or vibrations that may indicate a problem with the belt installation.
16. Turn on the AC and ensure that it's functioning correctly.
