How do you know if need rotors or brakes?

There are a few ways to tell if you need new rotors or brakes.

* Visual inspection: If you can see grooves or ridges on the surface of your rotors, or if the pads are worn down to less than 1/4 inch, then you need new rotors or brakes.

* Listen for noises: If you hear a squealing or grinding noise when you brake, then it's a sign that your brakes are worn out.

* Feel for vibrations: If you feel a vibration in the steering wheel or brake pedal when you brake, then it's a sign that your rotors are warped or damaged.

* Smell for burning: If you smell a burning smell when you brake, then it's a sign that your brakes are overheating.

If you experience any of these signs, it's important to have your brakes checked by a qualified mechanic as soon as possible. Driving with worn out brakes can be dangerous.
