How do you change automatic transmission filter on a 2004 Hyundai Sonata 2000cc?

Tools and materials needed:

- New automatic transmission filter

-Replacement gasket (if needed)

-Transmission fluid (check owner’s manual for the correct type and amount)

-Funnel

-Drip pan

-Ratchet and socket set

-10 mm wrench

Instructions:

_1. Safely Park the Vehicle:_

Park your Hyundai Sonata on a level surface and engage the parking brake.

_2. Locate the Transmission Pan:_

The transmission pan is located under the vehicle. It is usually a rectangular-shaped metal pan held in place by a series of bolts.

_3. Prepare Drip Pan:_

Place a drip pan under the transmission pan to collect any fluid that may drain when you remove the pan.

_4. Loosen Transmission Pan Bolts:_

Use a 10mm wrench to loosen the bolts around the transmission pan, but don't remove them yet.

_5. Drain Transmission Fluid:_

Carefully pry open one corner of the transmission pan to allow the transmission fluid to drain. Take caution as the fluid might be hot.

_6. Remove Transmission Pan:_

Once the transmission fluid has drained substantially, remove the remaining bolts and take off the transmission pan. Be careful not to spill any remaining transmission fluid.

_7. Inspect and Clean the Pan:_

Inspect the removed pan for any metal shavings or debris. If present, it may indicate further issues with the transmission. Clean the pan with a solvent or degreaser to remove old fluid and dirt.

_8. Replace Filter and Gasket:_

Remove the old filter from the pan and discard it. Install the new filter into place. Be sure to check if your vehicle requires a new gasket. Clean and install the gasket if necessary.

_9. Reinstall Transmission Pan:_

Place the transmission pan back onto the transmission and align the bolts. Tighten the bolts securely using the 10mm wrench.

_10. Add New Transmission Fluid:_

Using a funnel, add new transmission fluid to the transmission through the transmission dipstick tube. Refer to your vehicle's owner's manual for the recommended amount and type of transmission fluid.

_11. Check Transmission Fluid Level:_

Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Then use the transmission dipstick to check the fluid level. Ensure that the fluid level is within the indicated range on the dipstick.

_12.Test Drive the Vehicle:_

Take the vehicle for a short drive to circulate the new transmission fluid. Check for any leaks and ensure the transmission shifts properly.

Note:

For accurate information, refer to your Hyundai Sonata's specific repair manual or seek assistance from a qualified mechanic if you are unsure about the process.
