1. Locate the transmission fluid dipstick. It is typically located on the driver's side of the engine compartment near the back. It may be marked with "ATF" or "Trans Fluid."
2. Pull out the dipstick and wipe it clean with a rag.
3. Reinsert the dipstick into the transmission until it is fully seated.
4. Pull the dipstick out again and check the fluid level. It should be between the "Full" and "Add" marks on the dipstick.
5. If the fluid level is low, add enough fluid to bring it up to the "Full" mark. Use only transmission fluid that is recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.
6. Replace the dipstick and check the fluid level again after driving the car for a few minutes. Ensure the level is still between the "Full" and "Add" marks.
