How do you replace the steering stabilizer on a 1983 Buick Riviera?

1. Park your car on a level surface and turn off the engine.

2. Turn the steering wheel all the way to the left.

3. Remove the cotter pin that holds the tie rod end to the steering arm.

4. Use a wrench to loosen the nut that holds the tie rod end to the steering arm.

5. Use a ball joint separator to separate the tie rod end from the steering arm.

6. Remove the two bolts that hold the steering stabilizer to the frame.

7. Remove the steering stabilizer.

8. Position the new steering stabilizer in place and insert the two bolts.

9. Tighten the bolts until they are snug.

10. Attach the tie rod end to the steering arm and insert the cotter pin.

11. Tighten the nut that holds the tie rod end to the steering arm.

12. Turn the steering wheel all the way to the right and repeat steps 3-5.

13. Attach the tie rod end to the steering arm and insert the cotter pin.

14. Tighten the nut that holds the tie rod end to the steering arm.

15. Start the engine and turn the steering wheel all the way to the left and then all the way to the right. The steering should feel smooth and there should be no play in the steering wheel.
