1. Flat-head screwdriver
2. Phillips-head screwdriver
3. 10mm socket
4. 10mm wrench
5. New Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)
Procedure:
1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Locate the TPS on the side of the throttle body. It is usually held in place by two screws.
3. Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry the electrical connector off of the TPS.
4. Use a 10mm socket to loosen the two screws holding the TPS in place.
5. Remove the TPS and remove the old gasket.
6. Clean the sealing surface on the throttle body.
7. Install a new gasket and the new TPS.
8. Tighten the two screws that hold the TPS in place.
9. Re-connect the electrical connector to the TPS.
10. Re-connect the negative terminal of the battery.
Start the engine and check the idle speed. If the idle speed is not correct, adjust it using the idle speed screw.
