1. Look for the Manual Release Lever
- Some Jaguar vehicles have a manual release lever located in the trunk itself, usually underneath the carpeting. If you can access this lever, pull on it to manually open the trunk.
2. Access through the Backseat (if applicable)
- If your vehicle has a trunk that's accessible through the back seat, you might be able to reach the trunk latch from inside the car.
3. Use a Key
- Some vehicles have a keyhole or slot near the trunk latch that can be used to open the trunk, even if the battery is dead. Try using the car's key to unlock this slot.
4. Use a Slim Jim
- Use a slim jim or a metal rod to pry open the gap around the trunk latch. Gently guide it to the manual release lever and try pulling it, or use it directly on the latch to open it.
5. Disconnect Emergency Release Cable
- In the case of a Jaguar, this should be used only as a last resort, as it typically requires disarming the rear seat.
Tips:
- Once you gain access to the trunk release mechanism using one of the above methods, you should either replace or repair the manual latch and the battery.
