1. Locate the OBD port. In your 1995 Jeep, the OBD port is usually located under the dashboard, on the driver's side.
2. Connect an OBD scanner to the port. Plug one end of the OBD scanner into the OBD port and the other end into your laptop or other device that can read OBD codes.
3. Turn the key to the "ON" position. You do not need to start the engine. Just turn the key to the "ON" position so that the electrical systems in the vehicle are powered up.
4. Open the OBD scanning software on your device. This could be a dedicated OBD scanning app or software, or a general vehicle diagnostic tool.
5. Once the software is open, it should automatically connect to the OBD scanner and start reading the OBD codes from your vehicle.
6. The OBD codes will be displayed on your device's screen. You can then look up the codes online or in a repair manual to find out what they mean and how to fix the issue.
Note that some OBD codes may require the engine to be running in order to be accurately diagnosed. If you encounter a code that requires the engine to be running, you will need to start the engine and repeat the process.
