Materials Needed
- New wiper blades (driver and passenger side)
- A clean cloth
- A flat-head screwdriver (optional)
Instructions:
1. Park your car in a safe and well-lit area, turn off the engine and engage the parking brake.
2. Locate the wiper arm. The wiper arm is the metal arm that connects the wiper blade to the motor. On the ZX3, there are two wiper arms, one for the driver’s side and one for the passenger side.
3. Press the release tab on the wiper arm. The release tab is a small, plastic lever that is located on the top of the wiper arm. Press the release tab and lift the wiper arm up until it is perpendicular to the windshield.
4. Check the wiper blade for damage Inspect the wiper blade for any signs of damage, such as tears, cracks, or missing rubber. If the wiper blade is damaged, it will need to be replaced.
5. Remove the old wiper blade. Once you have released the wiper arm and checked the wiper blade, you can remove it by simply pulling it off of the wiper arm.
6. Install the new wiper blade. To install the new wiper blade, slide it onto the wiper arm until it clicks into place. Make sure that the wiper blade is securely attached to the wiper arm.
7. Repeat steps 3-6 for the passenger side wiper blade.
8. Test the new wiper blades. Turn on the windshield wipers and make sure that they are working properly. If the wiper blades are not working properly, check to make sure that they are installed correctly and that the wiper arms are not damaged.
Tips:
- If you are having difficulty removing the old wiper blade, you can use a flat-head screwdriver to pry it off of the wiper arm.
- Be careful not to damage the windshield when installing the new wiper blades.
- Replace your wiper blades every 6-12 months, or more frequently if you live in an area with harsh weather conditions.
