1. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
2. Open the hood of your vehicle.
3. Locate the fuse box. On a 2004 Toyota 4Runner, the fuse box is located in the engine compartment, on the driver's side near the battery.
4. Open the fuse box cover.
5. Locate the Alt 140 A fuse. The fuse should be marked with a "140A" or "ALT" label.
6. Use a fuse puller or a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the blown fuse from the fuse box.

9. Close the fuse box cover.
10. Close the hood of your vehicle.
Here are some additional tips for replacing a fuse:
- Always turn off the engine and allow it to cool down before replacing a fuse.
- If you are not sure which fuse to replace, consult your vehicle's owner's manual.
- Never use a fuse with a higher amperage rating than the one specified for your vehicle.
- If you experience repeated fuse blowouts, there may be an underlying electrical issue that needs to be addressed.
