1. Park your Mountaineer on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
2. Open the rear liftgate.
3. Locate the two tail light assemblies on either side of the vehicle.
4. Remove the two screws that secure each tail light assembly to the body of the vehicle.
5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the back of each tail light assembly.
6. Remove the tail light assembly from the vehicle.
7. Transfer the bulbs from the old light to new one or replace with new bulbs.
8. Reinstall the tail light assembly in the reverse order that you removed it.
9. Repeat steps 4-8 on the other side of the vehicle.
Here are some additional tips that may be helpful:
* When removing the screws that secure the tail light assemblies, be careful not to drop them.
* When disconnecting the electrical connectors, be careful not to damage the wiring.
* If you are replacing the bulbs in the tail light assemblies, be sure to use bulbs that are the same type and wattage as the original bulbs.
