* Floor jack
* Jack stands
* Lug wrench
* Socket set
* Torque wrench
* Wheel chock
* Brake cleaner
* New brake pads
Instructions
1. Engage the parking brake.
2. Chock the wheels that will not be lifted off the ground.
3. Jack up the vehicle until the tire to be worked on is off the ground.
4. Place the jack stands under the vehicle and lower the vehicle until the stands are supporting the vehicle.
5. Remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel.
6. Remove the caliper bolts and remove the caliper.
7. Remove the old brake pads from the caliper.
8. Clean the caliper and brake rotor with brake cleaner.
9. Apply a thin layer of brake grease to the back of the new brake pads.
10. Insert the new brake pads into the caliper.
11. Reinstall the caliper bolts.
12. Reinstall the wheel.
13. Lower the vehicle and remove the jack stands.
14. Repeat steps 5-13 for the other wheel.
15. Test the brakes by driving the vehicle slowly and applying the brakes.
Tips
* Be sure to use the correct brake pads for your vehicle.
* Apply a thin layer of brake grease to the back of the new brake pads to help them slide into place.
* Test the brakes by driving the vehicle slowly and applying the brakes.
* If you are not comfortable changing the brake pads yourself, you can take the vehicle to a qualified mechanic.
