1. Park your ATV on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
2. Remove the front cover.
- Pull the two rubber straps off of the hooks on the front cover.
- Remove the four bolts that hold the cover in place.
- Lift off the cover and set it aside.
3. Remove the old belt.
- Locate the drive belt, which is located around the primary and secondary clutches.
- Use a pry bar or a flat-head screwdriver to pry the belt off of the secondary clutch.
- Once the belt is off of the secondary clutch, you can remove it from the primary clutch.
4. Inspect the clutches for wear.
- While the belt is off, take a moment to inspect the primary and secondary clutches for any signs of wear or damage.
- If you see any damage, you will need to replace the clutch before installing a new belt.
5. Install the new drive belt.
- Start by placing the new belt around the primary clutch.
- Then, work your way around the belt, making sure that it is properly seated in the groove on the secondary clutch.
6. Reinstall the front cover.
- Once the new belt is installed, you can reinstall the front cover.
- Replace the four bolts and the two rubber straps.
7. Start your ATV and test the belt.
- Start your ATV and let it warm up for a few minutes.
- Once the ATV is warmed up, shift through the gears and make sure that the belt is working properly.
*Note: If the belt is slipping or making noise, you may need to adjust the clutch. Please refer to your ATV's service manual for instructions on how to adjust the clutch.*
