1. A scan tool or a diagnostic code reader.
2. A socket wrench.
3. A pair of pliers.
4. A screwdriver.
5. A set of brake pads and rotors (if needed).
Procedure:
1. Before attempting to reset the brake warning light, make sure that the brake pads and rotors are in good condition and have enough thickness left. If they are worn out, they will need to be replaced first.
2. Turn on the ignition but don’t start the engine.
3. Connect the scan tool or code reader to the diagnostic port of your car.
4. Select the "Brake" module from the menu.
5. Select the "Reset Brake Warning Light" option.
6. Follow the on-screen instructions to reset the light.
7. Turn off the ignition.
8. Disconnect the scan tool or code reader.
9. Start the engine and verify that the brake warning light is turned off.
If the brake warning light does not turn off, there may be an underlying problem with the brake system. In this case, you should have the brake system inspected by a qualified mechanic.
