1. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position, but do not start the engine.
2. Wait 30 seconds.
3. Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position.
4. Wait 10 seconds.
5. Start the engine and let it idle for at least 30 minutes.
6. Turn the engine off and wait 10 seconds.
7. Turn the engine back on and check to make sure that the computer has been reset.
If the computer has been reset, the "Check Engine" light should turn off and the engine should run smoothly. If the "Check Engine" light is still on, you may need to take your vehicle to a mechanic to have the computer diagnosed.
