1. Gather your tools. You will need:
* A Phillips screwdriver
* A flat-head screwdriver
* A pair of pliers
* A new fuel line
* A fuel filter (if your chainsaw does not have one)
2. Prepare your chainsaw. Turn off the chainsaw and allow it to cool down completely. Disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent the chainsaw from starting accidentally.
3. Remove the fuel line. Using the flat-head screwdriver, pry off the fuel line clamps that secure the fuel line to the carburetor and the fuel tank. Pull the fuel line off of the carburetor and fuel tank.
4. Replace the fuel filter (if necessary). If your chainsaw does not have a fuel filter, you can skip this step. If your chainsaw does have a fuel filter, remove the old fuel filter from the fuel line. Install the new fuel filter in the fuel line, making sure that the arrow on the filter points toward the carburetor.
5. Attach the new fuel line. Slide the new fuel line onto the carburetor and fuel tank. Secure the fuel line with the fuel line clamps. Make sure that the fuel line is not kinked or bent.
6. Test the fuel line. Turn on the chainsaw and allow it to run for a few minutes. Check for any leaks. If there are no leaks, the fuel line has been successfully replaced.
7. Reattach the spark plug wire. Reattach the spark plug wire to the spark plug.
That's it! You have successfully replaced the fuel line on your Poulan chainsaw.
