1. Purchase the correct clutch adjustment tool:
You can purchase the clutch adjustment tool from an automotive parts store or online.
2. Locate the clutch cable adjustment bolt:
The clutch cable adjustment bolt is usually located on the side of the transmission, near the clutch pedal.
3. Loosen the jam nut:
Use a wrench to loosen the jam nut on the clutch cable adjustment bolt.
4. Turn the clutch cable adjustment bolt:
Use the clutch adjustment tool to turn the clutch cable adjustment bolt clockwise until the free-play of the clutch pedal is about 3/4 inch (2 cm).
5. Tighten the jam nut:
Once you have set the correct free-play, tighten the jam nut to secure the adjustment.
6. Test the clutch:
Start the engine and press the clutch pedal. The clutch should engage and disengage smoothly.
