How do you replace thermostat in t2000 1999 kenworth?

* 3/8-inch drive ratchet

* 3/8-inch drive extension

* 5/16-inch socket

* Funnel

* Coolant

* rags

Replacing Thermostat

1. Allow the engine to cool down.

2. Locate the thermostat housing on the front of the engine. It is a round metal housing with a hose connected to it.

3. Place a drain pan under the thermostat housing to catch any coolant that may leak out.

4. Use your ratchet with an extension and the 5/16-inch socket remove the two bolts that hold the thermostat housing in place.

5. Remove the thermostat housing and gasket from the engine. Be careful not to lose the gasket.

6. Remove the old thermostat from the housing.

7. Inspect the thermostat for damage. If it is damaged, replace it with a new one.

8. Ensure you install the new thermostat in the same orientation as the old one was installed.

9. Replace the thermostat housing gasket and the thermostat housing.

10. Reinstall the bolts that hold the thermostat housing in place and tighten them until snug.

11. Connect the coolant hose to the thermostat housing and tighten the clamp until snug.

12. Fill the radiator with coolant.

13. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check for leaks and make sure the temperature gauge is reading normally.
