* A new drive-belt
* A ratchet and socket set
* A flat-head screwdriver
* A pair of pliers
* Safety glasses
Procedure:
Step 1: Park your lawn tractor on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
Step 2: Remove the deck belt cover. On the T155, the deck belt cover is located underneath the tractor, near the front of the tractor. It is held in place by a few bolts. Remove the bolts and lift off the deck belt cover.
Step 3: Locate the drive-belt. The drive-belt is the larger of the two belts that run from the engine to the transmission.
Step 4: Loosen the tension on the drive-belt. There is a tensioner pulley located near the drive-belt. Use a ratchet and socket to loosen the nut on the tensioner pulley. This will release the tension on the drive-belt.
Step 5: Remove the drive-belt. Once the tension is released, you can remove the drive-belt by simply pulling it off of the pulleys.
Step 6: Inspect the drive-belt for damage. Look for any cracks, tears, or fraying. If the drive-belt is damaged, it will need to be replaced.
Step 7: Install the new drive-belt. To install the new drive-belt, simply place it over the pulleys in the same way that the old drive-belt was installed. Be sure that the belt is properly seated on the pulleys.
Step 8: Adjust the tension on the drive-belt. Once the new drive-belt is installed, you will need to adjust the tension. Use the tensioner pulley to tighten the drive-belt until there is about a 1/2-inch deflection in the belt.
Step 9: Replace the deck belt cover.
Step 10: Test the lawn tractor. Start the lawn tractor and make sure that the drive-belt is operating correctly.
By following these steps, you can safely and easily change the drive-belt on your John Deere T155 lawn tractor.
