How do you replace a rotor on Chevy 350?

Replacing the rotor on a Chevy 350 engine involves the following steps:

Tools and materials required:

- Ratchet set

- Socket set

- Combination wrenches

- Flathead screwdriver

- New rotor

- Brake grease

- Brake cleaner

Procedure:

1. Park your vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.

2. Loosen the lug nuts on the wheel covering the rotor you need to replace. Do not remove the lug nuts completely.

3. Jack up the vehicle and place jack stands securely under the frame. Make sure the vehicle is stable before proceeding.

4. Remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel.

5. Use a flathead screwdriver to pry off the old rotor from the wheel hub. Be careful not to damage the wheel hub.

6. Clean the wheel hub thoroughly using brake cleaner to remove any dirt or debris.

7. Apply a thin layer of brake grease to the wheel hub and the mating surface of the new rotor. This will help prevent the rotor from sticking to the hub.

8. Place the new rotor onto the wheel hub and secure it with the lug nuts. Tighten the lug nuts by hand until they are snug.

9. Lower the vehicle and remove the jack stands.

10. Tighten the lug nuts fully with the ratchet and socket set. Make sure the lug nuts are tightened in a star pattern to ensure even pressure distribution.

11. Test the brakes by applying gentle pressure to the brake pedal. The pedal should feel firm and responsive.
