1. Open the tailgate.
2. Locate the two bolts that secure the tailgate to the bed of the truck. They are located on either side of the tailgate, near the bottom.
3. Use a wrench to loosen the bolts. Do not remove the bolts completely.
4. Lift the tailgate up until it is clear of the bed of the truck.
5. Remove the bolts completely and set them aside.
6. Lift the tailgate off of the truck.
To reinstall the tailgate, simply follow these steps in reverse order.
