Can a person that caused the car accident sue for personal injuries when his fault?
In most jurisdictions, a person cannot sue for personal injuries if the accident was caused solely by his or her own negligence. This legal doctrine is known as contributory negligence. However, there are some exceptions to this rule, such as when the other party's negligence was also a contributing factor to the accident, in which case the damages may be apportioned according to each party's degree of fault.
