1. Jack up the front of the lawnmower. You can use a car jack or a pair of jack stands. Be sure to set the parking brake and chock the rear wheels before jacking up the mower.
2. Locate the axle nuts. The axle nuts are located on the inner side of the wheel hub.
3. Loosen the axle nuts. Use a wrench to loosen the axle nuts, but do not remove them completely.
4. Slide the wheel off the axle. Grasp the wheel and slide it off the axle.
5. Remove the axle nuts. Once the wheel is off the axle, you can remove the axle nuts.
6. Clean the axle and wheel hub. Use a wire brush to clean the axle and wheel hub.
