Instructions:
1. Safety First: Before starting any work, disconnect the vehicle's battery to avoid accidental electrical shocks.
2. Remove the Door Panel: Locate the screws or fasteners holding the door panel in place. Remove them carefully to take off the door panel and access the window mechanism.
3. Locate the Tangled Cable: Identify the section of the cable that has become tangled or loose. Sometimes, the cable comes off the drum or pulley, causing it to jam and tangle.
4. Release the Cable: If the cable is wrapped around the drum or pulley, use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry it loose. Be careful not to damage the cable or any other components.
5. Untangle the Cable: Carefully untangle the cable, making sure there are no knots or twists. Straighten the cable to its original length.
6. Check the Cable Ends: Inspect the ends of the cable for any fraying, breakage, or corrosion. If the cable is damaged, consider replacing it with a new one.
7. Reseat the Cable: Once untangled, reseat the cable properly into the grooves of the drum or pulley. Ensure that the cable is secured and evenly aligned.
8. Test the Window: Reconnect the battery and operate the power window to check if it's working smoothly. If the window moves up and down correctly, proceed with securing the cable.
9. Cable Securing: After ensuring the window operates properly, use zip ties or electrical tape to secure the cable in place. Make sure it's firmly attached to prevent future tangling.
10. Reassemble the Door: Reinstall the door panel by inserting the screws or fasteners you removed earlier. Tighten them securely.
Reinstall Battery: Reconnect the car battery if you disconnected it earlier.
