What does a neutral safety switch look like?
A neutral safety switch is typically a small, cylindrical-shaped device with two electrical terminals on one end and a plunger or lever on the other end. The switch is usually made of metal or plastic and is often located near the gearshift lever in a vehicle. The plunger or lever is actuated when the gearshift is put into "neutral" position, completing the electrical circuit and allowing the engine to start. When the gearshift is shifted out of "neutral" position, the plunger or lever disengages, breaking the electrical circuit and preventing the engine from starting.
