>Press and release the brake pedal:
Press and release the brake pedal three times within a few seconds. This action helps initialize certain system components.
>Wait:
Wait for a few more minutes with the ignition still in the "ON" position and the brake pedal pressed and released. This allows various modules in the vehicle's computer system to perform their self-checks.
>Turn off the ignition:
Turn off the ignition by turning the key to the "OFF" position.
>Start the engine:
Now, you can start the engine. If everything goes well, the check engine light should be reset.
It's important to note that this method may not always clear all trouble codes or reset the CEL in all cases. If the check engine light persists after performing these steps, it's recommended to have the vehicle diagnosed and serviced by a qualified mechanic.
