1. Start by placing the gear lever in the neutral position.
2. Locate the small plastic cover on the top of the gear knob. Pry the cover off with a flat-head screwdriver or other suitable tool.
3. Once the cover is removed, you will see the retaining nut underneath. Use a suitable wrench or socket to loosen the retaining nut and remove it.
4. With the retaining nut removed, the gear knob should now come off easily. Simply lift it upwards and off the gear lever.
