1. Prepare the tow bar wiring kit.
- Unpack the tow bar wiring kit and identify the different components.
- The kit should include a 7-pin socket, a 13-pin socket, a wiring harness, and a relay module.
2. Locate the tow bar wiring loom on your vehicle.
- Open the trunk of your vehicle and remove the spare tire.
- The tow bar wiring loom will be located behind the spare tire.
- The loom will have a connector that matches the connector on the wiring harness.
3. Connect the wiring harness to the tow bar wiring loom.
- Connect the connector on the wiring harness to the connector on the tow bar wiring loom.
- Ensure the connectors are securely connected.
4. Connect the 7-pin and 13-pin sockets to the wiring harness.
- The 7-pin socket is connected to the red wire on the harness, and the 13-pin socket is connected to the black wire.
- Connect the wires by twisting them together and covering them with electrical tape.
5. Mount the relay module.
- Choose a suitable location for the relay module.
- Mount the relay module using the supplied bolts and screws.
6. Connect the power supply to the relay module.
- Connect the positive terminal of the relay module to the positive terminal of the battery.
- Connect the negative terminal of the relay module to the negative terminal of the battery.
7. Test the tow bar wiring.
- Connect a trailer to the tow bar.
- Turn on the headlights and brake lights on the vehicle.
- Check that the lights on the trailer are working properly.
8. Route the wires.
- Route the wires from the tow bar to the relay module, making sure that they are protected from sharp edges.
- Use cable ties to secure the wires at regular intervals.
9. Complete the installation.
- Replace the spare tire and close the trunk of your vehicle.
- Clean up any tools and debris that you have used.
Your tow bar is now wired in and ready to use.
