How do you replace the brake light bulb in a 2005 mini Cooper?

To replace the taillight bulb in 2005 Mini Cooper:

1. Open the trunk and locate the taillight assembly cover.

2. Use a screwdriver to remove the plastic plug in the center of the access panel. Once removed, you will see a metal bracket that is attached with a 5mm hex head screw.

3. Remove the screw, then remove the bracket.

4. Remove the taillight assembly by turning the assembly counterclockwise until it is unlocked and gently pull the assembly towards you.

5. Remove the bulb by turning it counterclockwise and pull it straight back out of the assembly.

6. Insert a new bulb in place of the old one by pushing it straight into the socket.

7. Reverse the order of steps 5-2 to re-assemble the taillight assembly.
