- Locate the alarm siren: The alarm siren is usually located in the engine bay of your Vectra estate. However, it can be in different locations depending on the model and year. Consult the owner's manual if you cannot locate it.
- Listen for the alarm siren sound: If the alarm has been triggered and is activated, you will likely hear the siren sounding. This confirms the alarm is on.
- Remove the bonnet (hood): Open the bonnet by pulling the release lever inside the car and locate the battery of the alarm siren.
- Disconnect the battery of the alarm siren: Look for the wires connected to the battery. Disconnect these wires by detaching them from the battery terminals.
- Wait for a few minutes: Leave the wires disconnected for a few minutes, preferably more than 5 minutes. This will drain any residual power and reset the alarm.
- Reconnect the alarm siren battery: After waiting, reconnect the wires to the battery terminals as they were before.
- Test the alarm: Try turning on the ignition of the car. The alarm should no longer sound if the deactivation process was successful.
