1. Open the hood of the vehicle.
2. Locate the timing belt cover. It is usually a black plastic cover located at the front of the engine.
3. Remove the timing belt cover. There may be a few bolts or screws that need to be removed to do this.
4. Once the timing belt cover is removed, you will be able to see the timing marks. The timing marks are usually located on the crankshaft pulley and the camshaft pulley.
5. The timing marks should be aligned with each other. If they are not aligned, the engine is not timed properly and will need to be adjusted.
6. To adjust the timing, you will need to loosen the bolts or screws that hold the camshaft pulley in place.
7. Once the camshaft pulley is loose, you can turn it to align the timing marks.
8. Once the timing marks are aligned, tighten the bolts or screws that hold the camshaft pulley in place.
9. Replace the timing belt cover and close the hood of the vehicle.
