1. Park the car on level ground and turn off the engine.
2. Open the hood and locate the transmission fluid dipstick. It is usually located near the back of the engine compartment on the driver's side. The dipstick is typically bright yellow in color.
3. Pull the dipstick out and wipe it clean with a rag.
4. Re-insert the dipstick into the transmission fluid tube until it is fully seated.
5. Pull the dipstick out again and check the fluid level. The fluid should be between the "Full" and "Add" marks on the dipstick.
6. If the fluid level is low, you will need to add transmission fluid. Use a funnel to add the fluid slowly, checking the level frequently as you add it. Do not overfill the transmission.
7. Once the fluid level is correct, re-insert the dipstick and close the hood.
