Instructions:
1. Disconnect the battery: Before you begin any work on the starter, disconnect the battery to avoid any electrical accidents. To do this, use a 10mm socket wrench to loosen the negative battery terminal nut, and then remove the cable from the battery.
2. Locate the starter: The starter is located on the driver's side of the engine, near the bottom. It is a cylindrical-shaped object with two electrical terminals on the top.
3. Remove the electrical connections: Use a 13mm socket wrench to loosen the nuts on the electrical terminals, and then disconnect the wires from the starter. Be careful not to drop the nuts, as they are easy to lose.
4. Remove the starter mounting bolts: There are two starter mounting bolts that need to be removed. Use a 15mm socket wrench to loosen the bolts, and then remove them completely.
5. Pry the starter out of place: Once the mounting bolts are removed, you can pry the starter out of place using a flathead screwdriver and a pry bar. Be careful not to damage the surrounding components.
6. Remove the starter: Once the starter is loose, you can remove it from the vehicle. Be careful, as the starter can be heavy.
Tips:
- If you have difficulty removing the starter, you may need to use a penetrating oil on the bolts to loosen them.
- Be careful when disconnecting the electrical connections, as you can easily short them out and cause damage to the vehicle's electrical system.
- If you are unsure about how to remove the starter, you should consult with a qualified mechanic.
